Our Story

For us at Olive, there is no greater joy than hearing from our clients messages like: “You’re a lifesaver!” “My family ate EVERY crumb!” “Even my picky toddler ate those meatballs – what did you put in them – magic powder?” Because yes – we do put magic in every meal for each and every one of you. The magic is love, freshness and a twist on the traditional.

Each week is a new adventure, a blast for us and for you – the peace of mind that comes with knowing that someone else has done the work – you just have to heat, eat and enjoy.

Chef Alex always loved food and cooking from a young age, but it became a lifelong passion after she had that first bite of real ceviche on her first international trip to Mexico at the age of 17.

Countless countries explored, cities lived in, and scrumptious food later she finally had the chance to jump out of corporate life to pursue her passion full time of showing love through food. Shortly after her daughter was born I launched OMG Yum Chef was born, focused on Catering & Private Chef offerings. The business expanded rapidly and soon she was hiring and looking for a way to expand her reach throughout the Bay.

Early 2025 she met Elinor & Arkadi through a Bay Area Chefs group and learned about their amazing Meal Delivery business, Olive Meals. They were looking to relocate to Southern California and, in their own words, “while we were sad to leave our beloved clients behind, we did so knowing they’d be in great hands and that Olive Meal’s legacy of serving food that tastes like home could live on within the loyal community we built in our 8 years”.

Olive Meals was relaunched in November of 2025 with the same focus on delicious Mediterranean Vegetable-forward dishes plus an expanded offering highlighting Chef Alex’s expertise in Asian, Latin American, and European foods.

Her goal is to deliver that “something more” you’ve been looking for – more healthy and nourishing, more variety, more vegetable-forward, and above all else… more like Home.
